Branding for a business class only airline based in Oslo, Norway. This was my final design project in my BA studies and I wanted to attempt branding on a scale that I had never tried before.
The concept came from Oslo's nickname which is Tigerstaden ("The Tiger City") which originated from the poem "Sidste Sang" by Norwegian poet Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson in 1870. It described a fight between a horse and a tiger; the tiger representing the dangerous city and the horse the safe countryside. Since then, Oslo has taken the name in a positive way as it can be an exciting and happening place rather than dangerous.
I wanted the logo design to have a modern feel but also incorporate the history of Norway. The design was inspired by old Norse ornamental designs mixed with a mono line style.
